

Since 1985, New York Stage & Film (S&F) has developed over 1,000 stories for theatre, dance, film and television that have won every major award including the Pulitzer-Prize, Tony, Emmy, Grammy and Obie. New York Stage & Film’s Summer Season at Marist University & the Bardavon features productions, readings and residencies for new plays, musicals, dance, film, and television in development. Audiences experience stories in their earliest stages before they go to Broadway, major resident and international theaters, movie theaters and televisions around the world. ​​​

The Filmmakers' Workshop serves a specially curated group of film and TV writers each year. We focus on fresh, ambitious work and prepare writers for success in a competitive industry. Participants gather during the S&F Summer Season in the Hudson Valley, where they receive a table read of their script with professional actors, attend the readings of fellow writers, and receive one-on-one feedback from industry professionals.
STORIES THAT MOVE: DEVELOPING DANCE NARRATIVES
Stories That Move is a developmental program for dance narratives. From full-productions, to readings, workshops and residencies. Stories that Move develops work where the choreographer is the primary artist.

RESIDENCIES
New York Stage & Film supports residencies for artists and theater companies by offering financial support, time, space and resources that meet each project's unique requirements.
During the Summer Season, individual artists, creative teams, and theater companies are in-residence to work on projects in writing rooms or to be inspired by the environment of the Hudson River Valley. Residencies are tailored to each project.
