BRIAN QUIJADA  |  Co-Creator and Performer

Brian Quijada is an actor, playwright, and composer and Co-Artistic Director of The WildWind Performance Lab at Texas Tech University. His hip-hop solo show WHERE DID WE SIT ON THE BUS? has been produced at Victory Gardens, Teatro Vista (Jeff Award), Ensemble Studio Theatre (Drama Desk Nomination), Boise Contemporary, 1st Stage, City Theatre Pittsburgh, and most recently, a digital production at Actors Theatre of Louisville (Drama League Nomination).  His plays have been developed at The Kennedy Center, Pittsburgh CLO’s Spark Festival, Victory Gardens’ Ignition Festival, New Stage and Film’s Powerhouse Festival, and The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Musical Theatre Conference.  Commissioning institutions include Seattle Repertory Theater, A.R.T., 1st Stage, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and The Kennedy Center.  He is a proud member of The Ensemble Studio Theatre. 

NYGEL D. ROBINSON  |  Co-Creator and Performer

Nygel D. Robinson is a singer, actor, writer, and multi-instrumentalist based in New York City. Select musician theatre credits include Larry in the workshop and Lincoln center concert version of BEAU: THE MUSICAL, Jesus in GODSPELL (St. Michael’s Playhouse), and Actor/Musician in THE ALL NIGHT STRUT (Milwaukee Rep). Nygel is the co writer of the new musical concept album MEXODUS alongside Brian Quijada.

FLORENCIA IRIONDO  |  Book, Lyrics and Music

Florencia Iriondo is a true citizen of the world. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she lived in New Zealand and Ireland and has been in NYC since 2013. Florencia is a lyricist at the Tony-Honored BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writing Workshop, a Eugene O’Neill National Musical Theater Conference Finalist, an LMCC and NYC Department of Cultural Affairs Creative Engagement grant recipient, and a member of The Dramatists Guild. 


SOUTH, Florencia's original musical about family, identity, and belonging, is scheduled to be presented at the Underbelly Edinburgh Fringe Festival, now postponed due to the pandemic. Readings were presented at HB Studio, The Core Club, ArtsonSite, and The Players Club. The music debuted by curation at a sold-out concert at Feinstein’s/54 Below. 


Florencia’s song-cycle WHO'S FLO was awarded by the Global Music Awards and the Hollywood Songwriting Contest. She’s the founder and executive producer of LinkedIn's original video and podcast series, having previously worked at MTV, Viacom, and Sky TV. She has studied musical theater at Estudio Julio Bocca, acting at Stella Adler Studio, sketch writing at Upright Citizens Brigade, and holds a B.A. in Communications from Universidad Austral.

HENRY GOTTFRIED  |  Pastor Fred, Ensemble

Henry Gottfried  is a theater artist based in New York City. As an actor, his credits include the Broadway production of WAITRESS (original cast; later, the role of Dr. Pomatter) and the national tours of BRIGHT STAR (Billy) and PIPPIN. He performed with the televised broadcast of Peter Pan Live! on NBC and has appeared on Good Morning America and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. As a director/collaborative dramaturg, he has worked at Ojai Playwrights Conference and Hedgebrook Playwrights Festival, and as an assistant director on several NYC projects. Henry holds a BA in Theater Studies from Yale University.

ARI GROOVER  |  Carly, Ensemble

Ari Groover is known for being a “Jack of All Trades.“ Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Ari has been blessed to perform on and off Broadway in HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME (Broadway debut); HEAD OVER HEELS (u/s Pythio); HALF TIME; SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL; ALICE BY HEART; BARE at New World Stages, and more. Most recently, Ari is Tina’s sister Alline in TINA: THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL, and was nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award for her portrayal of Ronnette in the Off-Broadway revival of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.  Her film/tv credits include In The Heights; Spiderman: Homecoming; The Get Down (Netflix); Law & Order: SVU; and 72 Hours: A Brooklyn Love Story. Along with performing, Ari is also a writer, DJ, and music producer creating an atmospheric soundscape and elevated vibe within the Broadway community. Despite the halt of Broadway due to the pandemic, Ari is currently producing her upcoming debut album Message From A Wanderer, releasing Summer 2021. She is excited to share her music to the world.

RAYMOND J LEE  |  Dad, Ensemble

Raymond J. Lee was most recently in the company of MACK & MABEL at City Center Encores! and SOFT POWER at The Public Theater. Broadway credits include ALADDIN, ANYTHING GOES, GROU, HONEYMOON IN VEGAS, and MAMMA MIA!  Regional credits include productions at A.C.T., La Jolla, The MUNY, and Paper Mill. Film/TV credits include Marriage Story, Ghost Town, "Succession," “Billions,” “Red Oaks,” and “Smash." His voiceover work includes projects for Dreamworks, Netflix, and several audiobooks. GEENA QUINTOS  |  Adrian Tong

Geena Quintos  is excited to be a part of this season at NYSAF! A native New Yorker, Geena is passionate about her hometown, the people that live in it and wants to continue to raise her voice for her community. Dedicated to new works and Asian American representation in the arts, she has originated roles in HELD MOMENTARILY, NEPTUNE, JEANNETTE (playing at The Signature Theater 2022) and SOFT POWER (which has just finished its run at The Public Theater in November 2019). She was also a company member of Seattle Rep’s production of HERE LIES LOVE. Other credits include EMOJILAND (The Duke) and The National Tour of A CHORUS LINE. She is the Founder of “The Buddy System,” an organization that services the API/AAPI community by providing accompaniment from trustworthy volunteers to anyone who is worried about getting around safely. Upcoming: Vietgone at The Geva Theater.

Michiko Sasaki a native of Kyoto Japan, raised in Denver Colorado and currently working out of NYC and LA. Theo Tiedemann  is an actor & singer known recently for “Transparent: Musicale Finale” directed by Joey Soloway. Born and raised in New York, he majored in film production at Hunter College before moving to Los Angeles to pursue film and television. Theo made his Los Angeles stage debut at The Largo last year in “The Faith Soloway Crisis Show” and is excited to be making his New York stage debut this summer with New York Stage and Film!

GIANNA YANELLI  |  Madison, Ensemble

Gianna Yanelli  is beyond excited to be part of the NYSAF summer season! Gianna was last seen in MEAN GIRLS at the August Wilson, originating the Broadway cast. Other credits include Law and Order: SVU, SNL, and Seth Meyers. A HUGE thank you to Melissa, Kit and Telsey for this opportunity!

LIZ LARK BROWN  |  Barbara/Judith/Diane

Liz Lark Brown is a NYC-based actor/singer/voiceover artist. As a founding member of The Musical Theatre Factory, she's happily been a part of many new works by up-and-coming, award-winning composers; and under those auspices has been with WHITE GIRL IN DANGER since Michael sketched a brief outline that was improv’d into pieces he then amazingly developed into today’s epic. The journey has been something to behold, and a hoot. Most recently, Liz was part of Shakina Nayfack’s Drama League Award-winning ensemble play CHONBURI INTERNATIONAL HOTEL AND BUTTERFLY CLUB. She’s a longtime collaborating member of “Joe Iconis and Family.” For her solo show TARNISHED,, she won the 2011 MAC, Bistro and Nightlife Awards. Latoya Edwards was most recently seen as Wummie in the American premiere of THE ROLLING STONE at Lincoln Center. Previously, she was seen as Ama in the remount of SCHOOL GIRLS;  OR, THE AFRICAN MEAN GIRLS PLAY at MCC in NY & Center Theatre Group in LA. Jennifer Fouché is an ensemble member of New York’s critically acclaimed Amoralists Theatre Company, a former member of the Flea Theatre's resident ensemble, The Bats, a member of the Tony Award winning choir, The Broadway Inspirational Voices and teaching artist. She is best known for her role as Matron Mama Morton in the Broadway National Tour of CHICAGO, and as Roberta, in the Original Off Broadway Cast of SISTAS The Musical. She has performed in The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The New York Fringe Festival and the Obie Award winning 48 Hours In Harlem Play Festival and originated the role of Jess in the critically acclaimed Off West End and New York productions of HALF ME, HALF YOU.  Some film and television credits include Wu Tang: An American Saga, Jessica Jones, Quantico, SMASH, The Mysteries of Laura, Person of Interest, White Pickett Fence and the Sundance Award Winning film, Crown Heights. She is also the voice of Dame Stella Nostrella, a recurring character on the PBS animated series, Pinkalicious & Peteriffic. Tickets for Summer 2021 outdoor venues at Vassar and Marist are pay-what-you-can and must be reserved in advance. The NYSAF Box Office opens for reservations on July 1st.
